Settings descriptions
- Update server every - controls how often location information is sent to the server. (More frequent updates run the battery down quicker.)
- Intelligent update - Reduces the number of updates sent to the server. Updates are not sent unless the bearing of the phone changes by more than 5 degrees. The tracks created when 'intelligent update' is enabled will not be as good as when it is switched off but less data will be sent to the server which may reduce data charges.
- Battery saver - turns off the GPS when the phone is stationary or the GPS signal is too low to get a fix. The GPS is turned back on when the phone connects to a different cell tower. This works best in metropolitan areas where there are more cells.
- Run in background - runs phonelocator even when the application is closed. Phonelocator will be started when the phone boots.
- Access point - selects the access point used to connect to the interent.
